Downtown Cleveland Alliance produces, manages, and maintains the banners in Downtown Cleveland from West 10th Street to East 18th Street, the Lakefront to the Innerbelt. The Banner Program offers a unique opportunity for groups to get their message out to over 100,000 downtown workers a day and 15 million visitors annually. While the program cannot be used to advertise individual businesses or sell merchandise, products or services, it allows organizations to promote themselves or a specific event.
Program Requirements
- A minimum of 10 poles (which is 20 banners) must be rented to participate in a monthly program; there is no minimum for annual programs.
- Downtown Cleveland Alliance must approve the banners before they are produced to ensure they meet city specifications.
- Full payment must be received on the date indicated on the contract or banners will not be hung until it is received.
Banner Production
- Banners are produced by Downtown Cleveland Alliance.
- Each banner costs $129 and includes necessary reprints in the event of damage due to wind or other causes.
- No telephone numbers or websites may appear on the banner.
Banner Specifications
- Banners must measure 27” wide by 80” tall after hemming.
- 3” double-thick hemmed pole pocket at top & bottom with doublestitching.
- Each banner requires 2 grommets on the inside/pole side of the banner; 1 grommet at the top,1 at the bottom. Grommet place ½”in from the same side - attached in the pole pocket near stitching.
- Banners must be printed on both sides and have a maximum printing area of 27” wide and 74” tall on each side.
- Graphics must cover a minimum of 75% of the banner printing area.
- Banners must have wind slits to reduce pressure on the pole.
- Banners are limited to no more than two (2) sponsor logos and 6 to 8 words in content with logos placed in the lower 12 inches of the banner.
Program Costs
- Banner Production - $129.00
- Annual Pole Rental - $50.00 per month
- Monthly Pole Rental - $100 per month for For-Profit Organizations; $86 per month for Non-Profit Organizations
